Kundalini refers to the life force energy that resides within each human being. Typically with our stress filled and fast paced life we resist the flow of this life force. Purna Yoga represents a holistic approach to yoga integrating not just the physical postures (asana) but also philosophy, meditation, and pranayama (breath control). Working with the breath is very important in yoga as the breath signifies your vital energy (prana). Being able to control your breath can help you to control your body and your mind.
Through the practice of Kundalini Yoga this resistance is eased and the flow of our life force expanded.
Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D., consists of sets of body postures and movements (kriyas), breathing techniques (pranayam), hand and finger positions (mudra), chanting (mantra) and meditation in a specific sequence to clear the energy channels and prepare the body and mind to manifest one's awareness of his or her life force.

Beginners can easily pace themselves while more advanced students and dive into the physically intense postures and focused mental challenges.

The practice of yoga is intended to be joyful and to lighten the heart and mind by calming and energizing and ranges from gentle restorative to dynamic vinyasa, and postures are always modified safely. Students at all levels are encouraged to build flexibility, strength and stamina of body, mind and spirit.

KUNDALINI CLASS GUIDELINES
  1. It is recommended to practice at least twice a week to notice great benefits however a daily practice is ideal.
  2. To make class more comfortable bring Water, Cushion for sitting (if needed), Comfy Loose Fitting Clothes, Blanket for Deep Relaxtion (Yoga Mats are Supplied)
  3. Class Begins Promptly at the scheduled time please arrive early to ease into the space..
  4. Kundalini Yoga is an inner process much of the class will be done with the eyes closed.
  5. Please inform the instructor before class of any physical challenges or injuries that he/she will need to consider in facilitating a safe class
  6. Listen to your own body durning the class, only do what you can don't push yourself to a possible injury. With practice you will eventual open the body to perform the most advanced postures.
